Sermon on the mount!

Matthew 5-7

Pastor Kong is starting a new series on the SOTM and its really interesting! Even though we have probably read it like a gazillion times... nothing beats studying it thoroughly! Even non-christians like Gandhi tried to live by its teachings! The first 2 lessons so far were great! haha so much so that i'm even willing to travel to expo twice a week on sat and sun! Hahaa ehh think this is the first time i'll be attempting to go for double services every week. BREAKTHrOUGH!


Niwae essy! Just for you, i shall chiong out an entry tonite! haha just so that you know i'm feeling much better alradi and thanks a million once again for going thru that horrible day w me. hahaa. sorry if i scared u.. but u were one of the few ppl i knew i could call and whine to... hello?? u were the first person i called!! haha so u cant blame me for breaking down. hahaa mayb cos i also know that u will be able to encourage me and put me on the right track. ilu!


Anyway strait to the main point! Actually by sat nite I was already feeling a lot better because the presence of God was so strong especially during worship.

Singing these words out loud made me confess the promises of God as well as all that he has done for me before. and felt reallie bad for even doubting him in the first place.


Then the best part was during sunday's service!

The power of brokeness.

Matthew 5:4
"Blessed are those who mourn"

Truthfully, i have read this like so many times but i nv ever truly understood it.

The difference between a broken heart and a heart of brokeness, is that a broken haert is broken by hurts...hurts caused by the world.. whereas a heart of brokeness...is one that is desparate for the things of God

1)The thing is without brokenness, you cant release the presence of God within you.

In John 12:1-8
Mary had to break the alabaster flask in order for the perfume to be poured out. And only after it was broken, then the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

Likewise, there is an anointing of the Hs that dwells within each of us. But only when a christian is genuinely broken before God can the fragrance of Jesus within his heart flow out of him.

And so for Man, the glass. the hard shell is our pride.

2)Without brokenness you cant be touched by the presence of God.

Gen 32:22-32
Jacob had an injury in his hip so that he will rmb to lean on God for the rest of his life.
Paul had his own weakness as well.

Which is something like what es wrote in her blog. Although we hate to say it, but its true that most people only react to God when they need him more than ever before.

And although a lot of this is kind of like head knowledge that I knew since years ago, but it came alive to me on sunday morning because what has happened seems like God is dealing with my pride right now. And so i have a choice.

I can choose to get upset and question God as to why he is doing this to me, or I can choose to recognize his work in my life at the moment and realise that it is an opportunity to expand my faith, believing that ultimately all things will work for good for those who love God.
