Hello world

Hello world.

Heres a followup on some of things that have been in my mind since the Asia Conference

The first elective i went to was Choosing the Right Partner in life.

2 Cor 6:14

The bible says do not be unequally yoked.

I guess when the passion and all is there...we can hardly hear the voice of anyone else...or rather we subconsciously shut it out. I've been there. done that. But i also had to go thru the heartaches of what it means to be unequally yoked. ah. To become one with someone else...its not a question of religion..its a question of the person's relationship and commitment to God...and to bring it further, a common calling.

Why is it so important? Because one day, your friends may leave you or they may not be there, your siblings and relatives are busy with their own lives, and only your life partner is there beside you. And when you are down, you dun feel like going to church, you're lazy, you dun wan to go alone... deep down, you'll want him to encourage you. go with you. stand in the gap with you...so that you are not fighting the battle alone.

Anyway, to me, the first and last session was the best! Not just cos of the service itself, but because of the company. haha. first day sat w my dearest cia and bff, last day spent the entire day with weijie from the moment i woke up! haha i think i shud blog this down so that i dun forget the happy times when i'm really angry. We self entertained ourselves thruout the 3 hours queue playing a game called CSS. Basically we took turns to say as many names as we can remember from our secondary school....loser treats supper.
yaya i loss even with the help of royston >.<..but then weijie practically remembered the names of all the pretty girls in sch so you cant blame me. haha we had supper at Simei that night... the beef hor fun was yummilicious!

Back to the last session where there was the beauty pageant that kept us really entertained, JJ Lin and Liu Geng Hong who shared a lil of their testimony and did a short performance! Okay gonna be a bit random here, but i think Jack Neo's testimony on the first night was the best! I even wrote down notes while Pastor Kong was interviewing him. LOL. These people arnt afraid to declare their faith and its so true that when you are famous, people are willing to listen to you. The people that they can reach is far beyond what a Pastor can do.

But the highlight! Dr. A.R. Bernard serves as an advisor to Mayor Michael Bloomberg and he has been recognized as the most influential New York clergyman (NY Daily News, February 6, 2008). He makes biblical truths so clear and easy to understand. AND his son!! is uber cool too!

I'm not going to repeat his sermon here, but the word insulation is stuck in my brain.

Yes. We want to excel in our marketplace, to have upward mobility, get into the third space to have an influence over culture, change a person====>change a place. But we need to insulate ourselves with spiritual disciplines. And thats where the cellgroup, your spiritual family comes in.

Unless you are telling me God is not smart enough and thats why he only puts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without
thinking beforehand how busy ur life is gonna be, the lack of time or rather busy-ness should not be an excuse.
He give us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week because it is within our capacity. All it takes, is to be a little more selfless or less selfish.
